Violation in forum

Hello,
Your Electronic Arts account has been flagged for violating the Electronic Arts Inc Terms of Service. We believe that the violation or behavior is serious enough to bring to your attention as it may impact your future access to the service.

Violation: BTW, I also find it highly amusing that the blame for the faults of the patch and WA errors atm, fall on CC, mods and hacks but we have this thread in general discussion regarding CC created by a GURU
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/77757.page>

Now please do pray tell why this is a violation? Is this oppression of speech or was it indeed offensive in some way?

  1. Huh? Why is that a violation? Is that all the explanation they offered? I don't get it.

What does this mean for you?

  2. I got into the forum now, so I assume it is just a warning? I don't know. Should I email them to ask? Maybe that will make them more mad?

Here is what I found regarding the rules of conduct... I can't see which rule I broke?

    10. Rules of Conduct.

You may violate the Terms of Service if you:
Post, transmit, promote, or distribute Content that is illegal.
Harass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything else to another player that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.
Transmit or facilitate distribution of Content that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, vulgar, sexually explicit, defamatory, infringing, invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, or in a reasonable person's view, objectionable. Hate speech is not tolerated.
Disrupt the flow of chat in chat rooms with vulgar language, abusiveness, hitting the return key repeatedly or inputting large images so the screen goes by too fast to read, use of excessive shouting [all caps] in an attempt to disturb other users, "spamming" or flooding [posting repetitive text].
Impersonate another person (including celebrities), indicate falsely that you are an EA employee or a representative of EA, or attempt to mislead users by indicating that you represent EA or any of EA's partners or affiliates.
Attempt to get a password, account information, or other private information from anyone else on EA Services.
Upload any software or Content that you do not own or have permission to freely distribute.
Promote or encourage any illegal activity including hacking, cracking or distribution of counterfeit software.
Upload files that contain a virus or corrupted data.
Post messages for any purpose other than personal communication, including advertising or promotional messaging, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or other commercial activities.
Improperly use in-game support or complaint buttons or make false reports to EA staff.
Use or distribute "auto" software programs, "macro" software programs or other "cheat utility" software program or applications.
Modify any part of the EA that EA does not specifically authorize you to modify.
Post or communicate any player's real-world personal information using an EA Service.
Attempt to interfere with, hack into or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers for an EA Service.
Use and communicate exploits to gain unfair advantage in a game
Attempt to use EA Software on or through any service that is not controlled or authorized by Electronic Arts.
Interfere with the ability of others to enjoy playing an EA Service or take actions that interfere with or materially increase the cost to provide an EA Service for the enjoyment of all its users.
Specific EA Services may also post additional rules that apply to your conduct on those services.
You must also obey all federal, state, and local laws, regulations and rules that apply to your activities when you use EA Services. EA reserves the right to terminate your Account and to prevent your use of any and all EA Services if your Account is used to engage in illegal activity or to violate this Terms of Service.

  3. I'm stumped.

I'm a lot of other things, too, but I'm trying to be polite.

  4. I can't understand it? I posted the comment in a thread where everyone including a Guru had blamed CC's for the games malfunctioning since the WA expansion install.

I understand that mods and hacks will certianly stuff your game up since it messes with the core files, but if CC does that as well, then why are EA promoting sites in a thread where you can dl CC?

Obviously I must have touched a nerve of some sort?
The whole CC issue is very confusing for me:/

  5. I don't understand why you got a warning for that one, but maybe the others did too.
If that was your first warning I wouldn't worry about it. I knew they didn't want people discussing certain sites but wouldn't have thought linking to that post would have been a problem.

I know another guru made another post somewhere a while back, warning people about things downloaded not being compatable and always wondered why they didn't include the warning in their link to cc sites.

I don't know what to advise about emailing them to ask.
I do know I wouldn't post anything about the warning on the forum.

  6. The thing is, the site I linked in my post is a GURU created post in Genl discussion in TS3 forum LOL

    *sighs and rolls eyes*

  7. I'm also stumped by why that one got a flag. Unless you got an ego tripping guru who didn't like you suggesting that the original post should contain warnings that not all CC is safe.

I acquired a cease and desist message once in the Sims 2 forums. I complained about a poster's complete and utter lack of being able to use intelligible English. They had posted over a lot of threads in one morning and I protested once in one. I was told off for deflecting the original topic. Bah. That's all that I got though.

  10. I just got a violation thing for this:

"I've read what they're patching, and the fact they're having to do 'little' patches at a time is, I think, frankly appalling. The game needs to be ripped apart and rebuilt as it clearly has so many issues. I'm just so relieved that EA never managed to takeover the GTA franchise if this is how they now build their games - shoddily, hurriedly, and using us, their cash cows, to beta test them. "

Think I hit a nerve? Hopefully they're realising what a major problem the Sims 3 is becoming...
