I looked at the family tree and he isn't dead. I look at all her relationships and Wyatt shows but he's kind of greyed out. She can call him long distance. I had Marta invite Wyatt (who is now a foreign visitor?) to the house. He's supposed to arrive the next day. We'll see. This is very very odd. I hope I can get him back!
Edit: I got him back. He came back as a foreign visitor and I had to use the add to active family cheat to keep him.
Here's Marta and Wyatt together again as she still mourns his "death".
But he is now unemployed. *sigh* He has to start all over in his career. He lost everything he had in his personal inventory and in some places they show as husband and wife while in others they don't. The family tree is borked. I'm just happy I got him back!!
And some serious story progression happened. Couples have changed, other people have hooked up, lots of moving around...weirdness.

Oh, man, that's so weird. Bad weird. I'm just glad she got him back. Made me feel sad looking at that broken heart/Wyatt thought bubble.
ReplyDeleteShe even slept on his side of the bed. Their relationship still shows as married when you look under their friend tabs but they don't show as married on the family tree. Also, they'll sleep together but the bed is now called either Wyatt's or Marta's bed.

Ack! The moodlet was so odd because it's the moodlet from seeing your loved one die. I saved the game under another name and I hope when I get back to it all will still be okay.

That is really weird! That bubble is only used for a 'death' right? Or is it also used for 'cheating'? I can't remember?

That's the death of a loved one bubble. I always, out of habit now, use the testingcheatsenabled true command before I enter my game. Then it's just shift click on the non-household sim and you can select add to active household.
ReplyDeleteI also noticed that some of Wyatt's clothes have changed. His sleepwear and swimwear are different. It's so bizarre. Her moodlet was the "witnessed the death of a loved one" as if he'd died in front of her.
The family tree will always be glitched now and other sims seem to view them as singles rather than married. But, when I view their individual friends listing it shows them as husband and wife.
He's back now and he's got to start all over again with his career. I need to check his skills as well. He was level 10 in athletics. I forgot to see if he still was or if he retained the martial arts skills he'd acquired.
The first thing he did when he got "home" was to pick up his son, Wade. It was very sweet.
Marta's everyday top and her gym wear had changed after I installed the patch. It seems like something else changed but I can't remember what it was. I don't know yet what may have changed on the other sims.

I still haven't tried entering all the hh since I patched. Still have to check that out. I've only entered a couple of them.
Wyatt still has his skills including the MA skills he acquired. Their relationship is sooo screwy now. Under Marta's relationship tab when I view Wyatt it shows the little wedding rings next to his picture. It lists him as husband but on the detail it shows no partner.
ReplyDeleteOn the opening screen of the game, Wyatt now stands separate from Marta and Wade. Also, Marta just had the wish of have a child with Wyatt.
How can the game be so confused about their relationship? I can't "remarry" them because in some instances they still are tagged as married.
Poor Wade is going to be very confused.
That sucks. But not losing his skills is good. Building those skills can be a pain sometimes.

I am so glad that he did come back.
Even if you started over with them there is no guarantee you would have had another Wade.
I just played for quite a bit. I'm going to have to lay off for a while until I catch up my blog. This spouse/not spouse thing is going to be a bigger problem than I thought. The other sims think the pair are fair game. Wyatt even developed a romantic interest while my back was turned and I had to nip that in the bud.

It actually ticks me off to log onto Sims and see the picture for their game. Marta is holding Wade and Wyatt is off by himself instead of having his arm around her. Bah!
At least this glitch should spice up the blog. I hope it does anyway.
You might try getting them to officially break up if that is an option then get married again.
ReplyDeleteHim standing on the other side of the screen sounds like you might have a doppleganger Wyatt. The one there isn't the one who had once married Marta. As long as my Sims are officially a couple, they stand together with the baby.
I know there is nothing funny about this and please don't be upset with me, but all I could think of when reading PiB's reply was mad scientist.

Look under the mean interactions, it should show up there. They may have to argue a bit first.

ReplyDeleteI agree, flirty sims are a blast. If either Travis or Zayne wants to go abroad, I may let them. I have to remind myself that my other games aren't true free will games and I can actually make them do things if they have a wish to. I'm getting my playing styles confused.
I bet PiB was right and this Wyatt is a clone. I think I'm going to ignore all the glitchy shenanigans instead of incorporating them into the story. Although, I did have a reason worked out for their spouse/non-spouse status and it was all Vita's fault!
ReplyDeleteThis game is suddenly on a killing spree and no one is safe. The Walkers received a phone call that Ethan Bunch had burned to death. I've never had any Sims get a call like that before. And, the game killed off a toddler with the lightning method. I read about that in the paper.
I'm glad that the break-up and marriage worked. It would have been frustrating to have a married/not married couple.

The clone theory is very interesting. When I had to keep filling Riverview with townies in gen1 and 2 of Crinklewinkle, often when I went to edit town I would see 2 or 3 Jon and Millicent Abrahams's.
Maybe that post is going somewhere logical with the idea that the game is getting confused about who the real one is in relationships?
ooooh Sue, I just saw the one about Travis and Zayne going abroad. Wonder if woohoo is possible in any of those community lots. They would really enjoy that.:)

re: Zayne, et al. Zayne and Avi haven't done anything REMOTELY interesting in AGES for me to take pictures of or write about. I'm going to have to smack them. Zayne and Travis did have traval wishes, but they went away. Next time they come back I'll just have to let them go and not try to free will it.

ReplyDeleteI don't think any of my Sims get much choice of a love life outside of the free will game. Sam certainly doesn't. Flirty Thomas is ever faithful to Tamara in his original game, etc.
