Late Night Twitter

Have you all read the info that came from Grant's Twitter session re: Late Night? Wow!  So much goodness.  I'm stunned by everything they're including.  I'm so excited!  I kept running down the stairs to tell hubby all the new stuff.  I'm so excited, I'm Dee excited!

 Thanks for the list, Kaleeko!

* Elevators are being added
* There's a new Romantic Interaction: Make a Move
* Guitar, Drum, Bass, and Piano each have their own Skill
* New "Film" Career: Branches into Director and Actor Paths
* Vampires can pass on their Vampirism to their offspring
* You can actually live in the super tall buildings, and buy the luxury high rises
* There will be a new Town, like Twinbrook, Riverview, etc.
* Vampires will age, but slowly
* New Objects: Shuffleboard, Darts, Bubble Bar, "Professional" Bar, Instruments, Hot Tubs (3 Variaties)
* New Sliders: Breast Slider for Women, a new "Muscle Definition" slider for Men/Women
* Improvements to Chatting while sitting down, drinking (?)
* The "Apartments" will function like the Shell buildings in WA, such as the Pyramids (where the rooms pop up into view and the outside disappears when you choose to enter)
* Mixology will be a new Skill, and you'll be able to work for money, similar to a Tattoo Artist
* You can form a band and perform at Night Clubs (and apparently can perform 'gigs'?)
* There are Acting Auditions in the neighborhood, and shoot B-Roll footage
* Addition of Subways, aka Undergrounds, which are free transportation system; free unless you get Mugged, that is
* New Traits: Shy, and "Star Quality" (Possibly to be renamed?) Star Quality trait will provide an 'Edge' in becoming a Celebrity.
* New Woohoo Places: Hot Tub and Elevator
* The Paparazzi will follow around celebrities; Paparazzi are NPCs only.
* A New FX Machine: can shoot snow, fire, glitter, bubbles, and more!
* Vampires can read minds! Hunt Others! Suck blood! Grow Plasma Fruit! Get burned in the sun!
* It's going to be less of an 'Opportunity' based EP, unlike how the PI career and WA works. (Yay!)
* New Build Tools: Pools on any level, circular pools, Fountain tool, move paintings up and down the wall, half-walls, ability to build inside "Shell" buildings, Stage Platforms, Dance Floor
* New ability to form groups/romantic groups while out on the town, to hang out together
* NPCs (non-active Sims, I assume) will now be able to host parties of their own, which you can 'Crash'
* You can sneak in, bribe, or hack your way into a Night Club -- or just use your Celeb status to get in.
* Water reflections are being added
* You can hire a Butler! (Who will have an 'Ask for Advice' interaction)
* New Music, possibly new Station -- Vampires will have a favorite food, "O Positive"
* There is no DJ Booth in the Nightclubs; it's focused on Live Bands playing instead
* New Facial Hair (such as the Goatee in the video)
* Different clubs will have different degrees of coolness; VIP clubs will have more celebrities, cooler people, better drinks and objects... "Overall higher quality."
* You do get paying playing as a Musician in the club.
* Teen children of Celebrities can get an exclusive job as a "Teen Celebrity"
* The new drinks made by mixologists will have various different 'effects'
* Being a Celebrity isn't a seperate job -- it's earned through schmoozing, doing things in careers, and more.
* Lots of new hairstyles, clothes, etc.

Drooling commencing!

  1. ROFL. I didn't know anyone could get as excited as Dee. I'm reading it now. All I can see are his answers but I just read something about a butler. Woohoo!!! I'm Dee excited again. I laughed when I read about the vampires liking O postive. That's what I am.

  2. Beat me to the punch! I actually typed up a list of all the info I tugged out of the convos... I'll email it to you Chrysame, add it to the original post. :)

I AM SUPER EXCITED. That is all. :D :D :D

  3. Someone please email it to me too. Pretty please.
I just read we can crash NPC parties. Did I really read that different drinks will make sims act different?
I'm squealing like a little kid here.

  4. She just updated the Original post Dee, you can read everything I typed up there. :)

I'm squealing too, Dee. It's gonna be aaawwwweesssome. I was actually planning on making Amelia an architect when she grew up, but I may have to do that career with Meredith for a bit, since Amelia may still be a YA when the EP comes out, and I know exactly what I'd want to do with her.

    Eeeeeeeeeeee. :D

  5. Gah! I love this and I'm frustrated, too. Georgia would be perfect for this. GAHHHH!!

  6. I hear ya, Chrysame. By then, though, you'll probably have all sorts of babies... I have no idea if I will, though. 90 Sim days until Amelia is a young adult. I've always liked long lifespans, but right now, this is torture.

But, probably only because they're giving us too many juicy details, and I'm going bananas. ;D

  7. I'm so darn excited I can't sit still. I'm so excited about everything. You don't know how much I have missed being able to move the pictures up and down on the walls.
I can't wait for the new sliders.
If I drool anymore I'll have to buy a new keyboard. :P~ That's drool btw.

  8. I can't wait to show this to my daughter. She's going to have a cow.

  9. What is it with men? I just can't get my husband excited about this. :D He's all involved in something on TV and just nodding. I don't think he heard a word I said.

  10. Come on Dee, our men folk are awesome. They let us play, and mine has no problem with me getting new stuff for the game.

They may not show enthusiasm but they ain't bad.

My hubby was quite happy for me when Sam was on the front page as a featured item. :)

  11. I never used to get excited about EPs. I do now, those updates sound awesome.

  12. My husband grumbles anytime I mention the Sims. :P Especially when it's something new I want him to buy for me.

However, he's just as much a computer addict as I am: he's quite contentedly playing his copy of Starcraft 2 right now, and you don't see me complaining. ;)

  13. I just had a mental image of celebrity Sam going to a night club, dodging the paparazzi, taking home the drummer of the band and woohooing in the hot tub. Or elevator. Or both!

    ReplyDelete
  14. You know what mental image I get?

Marta, trying to sneak into a Night Club, and getting tossed out by a bouncer. ;D

    ReplyDelete
  15. I really do have a very good husband. He's just not interested in Sims. He doesn't mind me playing though. It's a good thing cause I ain't givin' it up. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Then watching Marta beat him up. :D

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh and Sam is standing back watching it all and goes and beats him up just because he kicked a good looking woman out of the bar.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh, oh and then Sam goes home and walks around in his undies showing off his new slider muscles and we get to drool some more.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Given that celebrity status can be achieved by topping some careers and Sam has at least once topped Athletics and could hold autograph sessions, celebrity Sam seems very possible.

How he'll deal with it all is a good question.

Oh dear, more muscles ++ no blur in shower == Dee will be fainting...

  20. I think Dee is excited about this EP. I could be wrong, though.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Excited? Me excited? Now what would make you think I'm excited?
I mean just because i'm bouncing off the walls here.....

Oh Pib, be still my heart. A no blur Sammy with those new slider muscles. Thumpity thump. :)

  22. More from twitter

  23. Thanks PiB. I saw the topic last night but didn't click on the thread except to see what Hydra had said. I bookmarked it now so I can go aver it when I have more time.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Kaleeko got most of it. But there were a few more details in the thread.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was in a hurry trying to type that all up, so it wouldn't surprise me if I missed some stuff. I also have a link to a whole transcript with questions+answers, but I think at this point, we've all caught the details. :)

Here's an interesting Snippet I pulled from SimPrograms though:

"""We do not have apartments in the same way Apartment Life had an apartment. Your Sims are able to live in high rise like structures, some luxurious, some a bit more middle class. In them, your Sims are limited in how and where they can build (like an apartment). There’s a lobby downstairs with a callbox and elevator. You may see other Sims move in and out, but your active Sims are the ONLY ones who really live there.

We focused on the coolest part of living in an apartment – the view, the limited space, the elevator entrance, but do not have complex gameplay built around communal living."""

    ReplyDelete
  26. I can live with apts. being that way. I loved them so much in sims2 because it was a way to have other sims available without having to wait for a loading screen. since we can just watch our sims walk next door without a loading screen, I don't really miss them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't mind much either, Dee. I never had the Apartments EP, so I won't have anything to miss, and like you said -- it's easy enough to go out and visit people in Sims3.

I wonder if that means there's only one apartment per "shell" building, though. If it is, hopefully there's a lot of buildings -- I'd really like to get a cheap apartment of some kind.

Man, the more I think about this EP, the more I'm confident I want to hold off aging Amelia to a YA until it comes out. I also decided to switch out her Artistic trait for Virtuoso, so she'll be a better build for a street musician. >:D

    ReplyDelete
  28. I got a lot of spare reading done during loading screens. :)

It would be nice for our Sims to have the ability to have cheaper nice places to live. Houses and lots can be so expensive. But I'm really looking for the new social stuff (group outings!) and new outfits/hair. And music.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You've all talked about hot tubs so much and with such affection that I'm really looking forward to them.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have a feeling they're only going to get more expensive, PiB. I have a feeling some of the cheaper places may be better quality than, say, the stuff in Twinbrook, but the best houses (or rather, 'high rises) are probably going to be astronomically expensive... But, that's what hard work is for. Not that the Kanes have ever worked hard for their Simoleans... Every time I take them all away, bam, 100k in a week. -_-

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hot tubs are the Bomb, Chrysame. I always had so much fun with them in Sims 2. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. After I thought about it I do remember moving kids out after they grew up and putting them into apartments in the same building. Then again we couldn't switch apts. without the loading screens so it still would be the same as having them live next door.

Pib I usually used the loading screens to run to the bathroom or get something to drink.

Chrysame you are going to love hot tubs. I am so happy they added the woo hoo. It just wouldn't be the same without it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hope the group outings are like dates.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I imagine sort-of so, Dee. He did mention there would be 'romantic groups', so there probably will be a way to group up with one person.

I don't imagine it'll be the same as groups in Nightlife, but I guess we'll have to see.

That's one thing that sounded really cool about the Apartments EP, Dee. Having the family together, but not worrying about having to control them all.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I never had Nightlife. The one thing I have really really missed and haven't had since sims1 is restaurants. The kind where we can see our sims go in and have a meal together. I did miss the piano too. I loved that piano. I'm so happy to know it's coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Another thing about hot tubs. Remember when some sims would get in wearing only their blur and another sim would walk by and freak out? I hope they added that.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Only the blur? *laughs* Just imagine using Twallan's Mod and having the blur removed. It could make for some interesting shots ala PiB's Johnny Grant shower shot.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Outgoing Sims would always go naked in the hot tub and cause everyone around to react.

My one Sims 2 bachelor challenge had a 10 point outgoing Sim and he always had a blur in the hot tub. I mentally apologised more than once to the spirit of Humphrey Bogart cause it was one of the few times I had done a celebrity Sim and I'm not sure he'd approve. He randomly rolled Leo as his personality see, 10 points outgoing.

Outgoing Sims also would walk straight into houses, they didn't need an invite. And sometimes they would 'forget' to dress after a shower/bath. Had one once that walked past his parents, at least one child, and it wasn't till his spouse gasped that he realised he was naked.

Damn, I really have to update the Sims 2 blog...I'm missing those guys.

  39. I'm glad LN is months down the track yet.

I've only adequately done *one* new career from Ambitions. So much left to explore here.

    ReplyDelete
  40. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Komer0FKM

This is for you Chrysame. In Sims2 there were videos that would pop up for woohoo.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Me too Pib. I have a feeling I would miss out on a lot in Ambitions if Late Night was coming out soon.

    ReplyDelete
  42. *snickers* That was pretty funny, Dee.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm glad it worked for you. I clicked on the link in my eamil and went back to it but couldn't get it to play.
