They feel like old friends now

I've noticed something with playing Sam's neighborhood this time. I feel like Dee's Jon Marsh, Alicia Longshore and AJ Anderson and all the other Sims that keep appearing around town are old friends. Even those relative newcomers Zayne Hunter and Celia Pendragon are getting to that point (plus some of the other Sims that have been volunteered to my games.) Not to mention my own Thomas and Tanya who are always around somewhere these days.

Once Sam hits town, I don't switch households any more so he had to find out who was responsible when Tanya got pregnant (Jon Lessen), when Kristen Zaney got pregnant (Jon Marsh) and one of the other volunteers Kathyrn was pregnant (together with Jerod Bodette, again). Once he finds out, I edit town so the families do all live in one house.

  1. Isn't it great when that happens? I read your forum post where you said Kathryn and Jerrod had gotten together in three different games. I guess they're meant to be!

I need a Sammy fix. What is that boy up to? I'll be patient. Promise.

  2. I have looked at many of the same sims for so long now that I get confused and want to call you all by their names sometimes, just because of the connection.

I switched around this time. Some of the same ones are back but many are new.

I played Mick in the other game so much that when making notes I catch myself writing Mick instead of Wyatt.

I too am waiting for a Sammy fix. I need to go visit the forum. I've been busy here and with the game so much that I sometimes forget to go there.

  3. Isn't it amazing how real they feel and how attached you become to them, these characters you create? I love it.

How do you find out all you need to know without switching households?

I'm getting more and more antsy to start my own freewill game the way you guys do, but I'll need coaching from you all first.

I also want to do the klepto thing even more after reading Dee's and Chrysame's stories, and I have to keep up with Zayne and Avi. I think I have too much on my plate! ;)

  4. Sam is a charismatic Sim. If I see something like a pregnant Kristen, he has a chat to her. Asks her what her job is and Asks if she is single. As far as I can tell, once he learns this, it always stays up to date.

Thank heavens Ask if Single doesn't seem to count as real flirting or Sam would have had an argument with his current sweety.

  5. I do what PiB does. I also go to edit town and click on each house to see if anyone is holding a new baby or has more sims in the house or if anyone looks pregnant.
I just looked and I saw one pregnant sim but won't say who that is yet.
I find the premades the same way and if I don't want them in the game, I evict and then delete them from edit town.
Thanks to PiB, if I decide to actually go into another house, I turn aging and story progression off until I get back to my own sims house.
When I find out two sims have a child and need to be living together I evict one and merge that one with the other house from edit town mode.

  6. Yep, in edit town mode I can see if there is someone I need Sam to meet.

Like I knew one of the Working Friends household had a baby but obviously with someone from out of that household. Sam finally found Madison one day and asked her. It turned out the Dugan Gruffman was her boyfriend. So I used edit town to move Madison and baby to live with Dugan and moved Dugan's housemate to live with the Working Friends household.

Pretty much the same story with Kristen and Jon Marsh - once I knew whose baby it was, they had to live together.

  7. BTW - I see that Dee and I are both keeping secrets. She has a pregnant Sim and I know who Sammy is involved with this time... LOL... anyone excited yet?

  8. "waves arm in air"I am. I'm not sure how the person I got the sim from will feel about it though. It's a new sim.

  9. Excited? I'm burning up with curiosity! Who is with child and who is the daddy? And who has already captured Sammy's heart? Inquiring minds want to know!!

  10. LOL, Chrysame. I know who the sim is, but even I don't know who the daddy is yet.

  11. Finally, Sammy has progressed to the point that I can really start the next Sammy story. It's taken days to get here, I wanted him to reach about level 5 in Science before we started. And while I know you can cheat to get a specific level in a career, they won't hold it long if they lack the skills. So we had to do it the long way round.
