Day 10 - Your favorite celebrity as a Sim (made by you)

Ok, not one celebrity but basically every attempt I've made at celebrity Sims.

The first you have never seen in my game nor in my studio. I was trying to do Bill Bixby, an actor I adored from forever. I was never happy with how he looked so he never came out to play.

The second was from a forum request for a Doctor James Wilson from House. The Sim actually does look reasonably like the actor/character.

The last - John Barrowman - buoyed by my success with Wilson, I wanted a Jack Harkness. The actor looks pretty much the same out of character as he does in.

So it's all my celebrity Sims.

Question for the day - does anybody care?

Sue's only acceptable celebritysim

I can't make sims that look like real people, so I don't try any more. Very often. But I did make one, Tyler Townsend, who purposely looks a little bit like Brendon Fraser.

  1. I always liked your James Wilson sim. ^^ It's not exact, but, honestly, it's close enough that when I first saw the image I knew it was him!

Admittedly, I have no idea who Bill Bixby or John Barrowman are off the top of my head.

What do you mean, does anybody care?

  2. Well, James Wilson is about as good as I'll ever get for celebrity Sim. :)

I thought you were too young for Bixby. He died years ago now.

    Bixby's entrance in IMDB

As for Barrowman, if you ever watch Dr Who or Torchwood, he's the actor behind Captain Harkness.

It's been kind of quiet, I think you are the only person reading these. :) So I was trying to stir up chatter.

  3. Aaaah, I do think I recognize Bixby vaguely, but I don't think I've actually seen any movies he's in.

I don't get Dr. Who sadly or Torchwood, sadly--they aren't on Netflix here yet. However, looking at pictures, I recognize him from Desperate Housewives!

Interesting way to stir up chatter... :P It is Easter weekend, though. Lots of people have time off and are spending it elsewhere?

  4. That's true about Barrowman, he has been in Desperate Housewives, which I never watch. :)

Apparently there is to be a US version of Torchwood, with Barrowman as the main character again.

I could hope to stir chatter. Even if it is a holiday weekend. It just doesn't work terribly well.

  5. I don't know the first two, but that last one really does look like John Barrowman! And why would you think Kaleeko is the only one who reads? I do too ;)

  6. Thanks for that Amelia. :)

    You don't watch House?

I didn't expect anyone to know Bixby unless they are approximately my age...

    Glad you are reading too.

  7. Nope, I don't watch house! But after googling pictures, I definitely see the resemblance.

  8. Jack Harkness is such a fun sim. You never know what he'll do.

I think Bixby looks pretty good. This is more his Hulk years than the Courtship of Eddie's Father, yes?

  9. Hey Chrysame - yeah, it would be later Bixby, not earlier. I actually missed most of the Courtship of Eddie's Father cause my father wouldn't watch it. But I will confess to liking Bill since watching My Favorite Martian (would you believe reruns?)

And I really can't remember a time I didn't adore him. Possibly my first crush. LOL

Jack Harkness, now where would we be without that Sim? I was so pleased he made Ollie happy. He has had a couple of husbands and wives across my games. If they can overlook that he's not faithful, they have a great time with him.

  10. My Favorite Martian, I'd forgotten about that one. Costarring the actor who went on to play Mr. Hand in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Spicolli's teacher. Wow, Bixby had a very long career.

Jack made Ollie very happy and they're responsible for Ms. Gwen who is kicking it up big time in my first clone challenge game.

  11. Bixby did manage a pretty long career, with some variety.

I always adored the Mayweathers, and part of it was because of their history. Marnie married Indy. Ollie made a mistake but then found a Jack. Gwen made a mistake but then found a Jack...

So you and clone Gwen having fun?

Someone in the forums read Sam and is doing the toddler challenge.

  12. Your Tyler does resemble Brendon Fraser, Sue. I was surprise to see his pic, it's been a while since he's been around.

  13. I recognized Dr. James Wilson right away when you made him. As for Bill Bixby, I'm afraid I had to know who he was, but now I see a very definite resemblance. He was my first crush, too. Or was it Lloyd Bridges as Mike Hunt in Sea Hunt? I don't remember which came first. Hmm, wonder how hard it would be to make him?

  14. If you make a Bridges Sim, Sue, I'll take him!

My Gwen clone games are going well, PiB. I have one where she survived on painting. When she'd done well enough, I let her marry. She could only afford to have one child and that was...liberating!

I've started one doing something I've never done in a new game. The goal was a level 3 Visa and a vacation home. She's got that so I'll extend it to three level 3 Visa.

  15. @Sue, you never know how hard it will be till you try. So go for it.

@Chrysame, I'm glad that the Gwen clones are going well. It is nice to set a goal like "No marriage until you have xxx set aside" I managed to have a Sam who didn't marry or start a family...it was good to break that pattern. And evil...I have to do evil Sam again...that was fun.
