Wish me luck

At the moment, we are two days away from what could be a truly massive cyclone/hurricane. It's pretty much headed straight for town and could really create havoc.

Maybe, that's the prediction. They expect the seriously damaging area to be hundreds of kilometers wide. These storms are unpredictable, who know if it will hit with that full potential.

We might be asked to evacuate tomorrow, I have to prepare tonight. My heart aches.

  1. I hope the hurricane will not cause lots of damage, especially to your area. Wish you and your family safe and sound and will be back to your home again as soon as the storm has petered out.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Wish we could do more.

  3. Over night, it has turned a bit more north. Still, we are not safe yet.

Next update is due. I am waiting to see how it looks.

  5. Well, go to

http://www.bom.gov.au/qld/ and check out the cyclone advise. The prediction shifted a bit more north so we are in the path of destructive winds but not highly destructive winds. The core is headed to Cairns now.

  6. At least it won't be hitting you head on. Still keeping fingers crossed. I feel bad for the people in Cairns.

  8. They predict the cyclone to cross the coast in about 9 hours. We are in what should be a good shelter, with our dogs. Plenty of food, facilities while the power lasts. It should be good.

  9. Hoping everything is still okay with you.

  10. Cyclone has past. We are fine. But we have no clue about the house.

Lot of damage to trees here on campus. Big branches snapped off, some uprooted. The towns at the centre had it far worse.

  11. I saw on the radar that the eye passed between Townsville and Cairnes.(SP?) Looks like both of you had some really bad weather.

I hope everything is alright at your house, PiB. I'm sure it is, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, anyways.

Keep in touch, and do try not to worry. <3

  13. Oh and on a side note @ Dee:

Many :('s at retiring your blog, but I'm glad you decided to just hide it instead of delete it, for now. If all else fails you can change the title or something. I just will miss not being able to read about Kat!
