Per our chat on Dee's Freewilling Sims blog we're going to load some new sims to the exchange. Perhaps three or so. Some born in game Sims and a new creation if you're so motivated.
List any requests for sims you've seen in each other's games. Dee's Christi has already been requested.
I suggest that if the sims already have the same last name of some of our other characters (i.e. Grant, Walker, Lessen) that we give them new last names to avoid confusion.
I need Hugo! And Ripley. :)

I agree about changing last names if everyone wants to. I want to have different names in the town. right now I have lots of families with the same last names.
We do need to let people know who created the parents though, when we put them on the exchange.

Cross fingers for me people, I have just installed my first Sims mod ever. Super computer because it doesn't look like an official Story progression that covers my patch level is out yet.

The only time I've had a problem uploading sims to the exchange is when I try to upload them with more than one outfit per catagory.
Oh, I meant to add that if they have custom content, be prepared. They will look a little different in my game.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who to upload from my games. I have virtually all of them, the free will from the first round (too unstable to play but I could extract a Sim or three). The current free will game. Any of the Sam games, including the offspring of various other Sims.

I will tell you all that if we do this. I will just have to age up Indie's babies so I can see what they look like and start a new game.

I do have some with CC but I'm probably gonna change that before I upload just so they'll look the same in everyone's game.
I have no problems downloading from the exchange right now. I haven't patched though so I hope I can say the same afterwards. Keeping my fingers crossed on that!

ReplyDeleteI've thrown that Landgraab family into Indiana Sam's neighborhood but it's the one on the Exchange. They have Mindi and Malcolm but not the pink-haired evil daughter Angel. I miss Angel.

ReplyDeleteI told you I'm getting old and feeble minded. I forgot to say, all of the sims are uploaded now. All 13 of them. Of course, I don't expect anyone to take all of them. Just pick what you want. At least now they are there for me to download if I ever lose my game.

Ah well, the boys made it but Mindi is failing. It's funny, she's at 1 meg - which I've had fail before. But Henry was way more than 1 meg and he went fine.

ReplyDeleteKai, I downloaded your three from your blog links. No problem. I did manage to acquire some extra stuff there. In my installed content folder I found patterns, lipstick, looks like shoes and some type of clothing. I'll know more when I start the game up again. I've had that happen before when downloading. It all has the S3W marker on it. Doesn't hurt anything.

Get prepared for a brand new game coming from me, using my brand new sims and the sims I uploaded. I think that is enough to fill a town. I may rotate around for a while and then toss a sim in to actually play. Or I may reverse that.
You know I'll probably delete most or all the townies. Now I just have to decide if I want to play in Riverview or Sunset Valley. I'm about ready for Sunset again.

ReplyDeleteWhen you use custom content, sometimes bits and pieces of things in your game will be downloaded by others even if that sim doesn't have the content on them. I don't really know how to explain it.
ReplyDeleteIt's like patterns or lipstick you have made or acquired from someone else. It gets passed on. It's not something to worry about.
If I want to, I can delete it from the "installed content" section of the launcher and it won't change the sims.

I check that installed content pretty often.
The forum just seems to get slower every time I go there. I believe I read where they are looking into it. Hope they figure out a way to speed things up. Sometimes when I try to reply to someone, it times out before the reply goes through.

ReplyDeleteCool. I'm off to the game in a few minutes. These youngens are moving to Sunset Valley. They're stuck in the same blog though. I think this time I'm going to leave the married families there and delete just the singles. I'm not going to alter any of the community lots this time. Hopefully that will keep things from getting all glitchy.

I just realized that I have 4 more females than males. I know I'm going to add Indy. That will cut it down to 3 extra females. I'll figure out something. Maybe they will figure it out for me.

They could be from me. I like to take patterns from houses and use them in clothing. Peace makes a lot of his own patterns so I trust them.
ReplyDeleteI did purge a few label patterns (puma, etc) that didn't come from a house so they must have been from someone's sim.
I remember the Puma patterns. I got rid of them too. I always thought they came from worsie. They didn't cause any problems but I got rid of everything before I patched that time just in case.

Holy havoc, Mindi has 50 downloads? Laura stopped at 27 and she was far more popular then any other female I put up.
To Kai, I'm using SV this time. I'm a little tired of Riverview.
ReplyDeleteI think I have it mostly figured out PiB. I'm tossing in YA Jon Lessen, my sons Johnny Ringo and Indy. That's getting closer to being even, I think.
PiB, I discovered Mindi was still a teen. When I aged her to YA, her clothes changed. I matched the everyday wear as close as possible. I darkened her eyebrows a bit and changed her traits a little. She's not a bookworm anymore. Along with her neurotic, genius and good, she is family oriented and ambitious.
Of course I didn't have Ernesto's everyday clothes so he has new everyday. The vest with the watch in the pocket.
Kai, Kacyn's formal went to default, so I dressed her in another formal. I think I used her favorite color though.
I'm going to finish checking my mail and I'm off to through the new sims into SV. They are probably tired of waiting in that bin.
I couldn't get Susie Pierce installed. She downloaded fine, but the installation wouldn't work. I tried twice. I tried downloading Ripley, but she wouldn't download. I'm getting sick of EA's site.

ReplyDeletePlease, feel free to give Mindi any outfit your little heart desires. That suit she had was what she grew up in. I exported her straight from her family which is why she was a teen still. The same goes for the others; new names, new clothes, new personalities or lifetime wants. It's all good.

The launcher has been trying to confuse me lately. I download something and wait a minute and everything gets greyed out. It is installing stuff without me clicking for it to install. Strange.

Hugo 2 - 23 downloads in just a few hours I suspect. I think thumbnail 2 worked better!
BTW - Sam + Celia + the babies are very very slowly creeping up to 100 downloads. They've made it to 95 now.
I thought I'd experiment and see if a different picture worked better for Hugo. I also left version two Hugo in his WA outfit.

ReplyDeleteI have been having fun. I threw Travis into the town and spent one day with him. I then started going to the premades houses while all the other sims have been settling in. I've spent one sim week in the game. I went back to Travis's house right before I stopped. I haven't been into our other sims homes yet. Things are happening though.
